The Box Office Game
đ¯ What is The Box Office Game?
The Box Office Game (boxofficega.me) is the daily weekend-box-office ranking game. Each day the puzzle drops a list of ten films that are currently in theaters and asks you to rank them from highest-grossing (1) to lowest-grossing (10) for the previous weekend.
The game is inspired by the Blank Check podcast and uses real weekend numbers from the-numbers.com and TMDB. Each day's puzzle reflects the previous weekend's actual results, so the answer is drawn from current theatrical releases rather than a fixed historical pool. A new puzzle drops each morning with a new weekend's numbers, and a Leaderboard ranks the closest orderings.
đĄ How to Play The Box Office Game
- Open boxofficega.me to see today's puzzle: a list of ten films currently in theaters and ten slots to rank them in.
- Read the on-screen clues. Each film shows its opening weekend, genre, studio, and any other available context â these are the strongest tells for ranking.
- Drag and drop films into the slots, or click a film and then click a slot. You can rearrange as many times as you want before submitting.
- Submit your ranking. Correct slots turn green, wrong slots turn red, and the closer you are to the right order, the higher your score.
- Use the score breakdown to see how far off you were. The game rewards proximity â getting the top three right is worth a lot even if you miss the bottom half.
- Share your run with the daily link. The puzzle updates with a new weekend's numbers each morning.
đ Tips for Playing
