đŸŽ¯ What is Framed?

Framed is the daily movie guessing game built around film stills. Each day the puzzle drops six frames from a single film and asks you to name the movie — but every wrong guess eats one frame, so the goal is to recognize the film from as few visuals as possible.

The frame library is curated with help from shotdeck.com and spans Hollywood blockbusters, indie films, foreign releases, and older classics. Side modes add visual variety: One Frame gives you a single screenshot, Titleshot plays the film's title card, and Poster shows the movie's key art. An Oscars-themed community mode runs during awards season.

💡 How to Play Framed

  1. Open framed.wtf to see today's first frame — usually a mid-movie shot with a hint of the setting, characters, or color palette.
  2. Type a movie title into the search box. The site accepts original titles and most English release names, and a guess counter tracks how many you've used.
  3. Press Guess. A correct answer ends the round immediately; a wrong guess replaces the current frame with the next one in the sequence.
  4. Read the visual clues. Costume era, color grade, lighting, framing, and the actors' faces are the usual tells — even partial silhouette recognition counts as a clue.
  5. Try the side modes once you've finished Classic. One Frame gives you a single screenshot, Titleshot plays the title card, and Poster shows the film's key art.
  6. Open the Archive if you missed a day. Every previous puzzle is replayable with the same frame sequence, and Oscars mode runs through awards season with community-shared results.
  7. Share your emoji grid when you solve the day. Stats save locally in your browser and reset at UTC midnight.
