đŸŽ¯ What is Heardle?

Heardle is a daily music guessing game built around the same idea as Wordle, except instead of guessing a five-letter word you guess a song from a one-second audio clip. Every guess unlocks a longer snippet, so the puzzle grows easier with each attempt — and harder the longer you stall.

The original Heardle was a web game by Omakase Studios, picked up by Spotify in 2022 and shut down in 2023, which spawned a family of community-run clones that keep the format alive. Heardle's twist is that the snippets build from one second to a full sixteen seconds, and the goal is to recognize the song — by intro, by melody, by a single vocal hook — before the clip plays out.

💡 How to Play Heardle

  1. Visit heardle.website and hit Play. Today's puzzle starts with a one-second intro from a mystery song.
  2. Type the name of the artist or the song title into the guess box and submit. Suggestions appear as you type to help you commit the right spelling.
  3. If you miss, you get a longer snippet to work with — the clip doubles in length with each wrong guess, from one second up to sixteen seconds total.
  4. Use the unlocked time to listen for the melody, a familiar lyric, or a signature riff. The intro, the first line of the verse, and a recognizable chorus moment all tend to land within the first sixteen seconds.
  5. You have six guesses. Solving on the first one-second clip is the rare perfect run; solving on the last full clip is still a win.
  6. Share your result as a row of emoji once you've finished — green squares mean you nailed the song, while the number of squares filled in tracks how many clues it took.
