đ¯ What is Headlines?
Headlines is the daily history guessing game from headlines.games. Each day the puzzle drops a sequence of historical headlines â usually three to five events that share a common thread â and asks you to identify the year they all happened.
The format is similar to Yeardle but with newspaper-style clues. Each headline is short, often punchy, and points at a specific moment in time. The goal is to find the year that connects all the headlines within eight attempts using color-coded feedback.
đĄ How to Play Headlines
- Open headlines.games to see today's three to five historical headlines and the prompt to guess the year they all happened.
- Read each headline carefully. Look for time-specific clues (a leader's name, a war, an invention, a natural disaster) to anchor your guess.
- Type a four-digit year into the input and submit.
- Read the color-coded feedback. Green means very close, yellow means somewhat close, gray means far. The site also tells you whether to push earlier or later.
- Use the feedback to triangulate. Two or three well-chosen guesses usually narrow the answer to a single year.
- Solve within 8 tries and a shareable emoji grid appears. Streaks save to your browser.
đ Tips for Playing

- Pay attention to every piece of feedback â even small details matter
- Think about what's unique or distinctive about the clues you've received
- Practice daily to build your pattern recognition skills
- Share your results with friends to compare strategies
