Wordiply
đ¯ What is Wordiply?
Wordiply is the daily word-puzzle game from The Guardian. Each day the puzzle drops a starting letter and a target word length, and asks you to find the most obscure English word you can build that includes the starting letter and meets the length requirement. Your word is then scored against a database of English word usage â rarer words score higher.
The format is unique among word games: you're not solving a single answer, you're competing on a leaderboard for the most obscure valid word. The same puzzle goes out to every Guardian reader worldwide, and the daily leaderboard ranks you against the rest of the field.
đĄ How to Play Wordiply
- Open theguardian.com/puzzles/wordiply to see today's starting letter and target word length.
- Build an English word that includes the starting letter and meets the target length. The word must be valid English â common dictionary words, obscure terms, and proper nouns all count.
- Submit your word. Wordiply scores it against a database of English word usage â rarer words score higher on the leaderboard.
- Aim for genuinely obscure words. The leaderboard rewards vocabulary depth, not just any valid word.
- Submit only one word per day. The leaderboard resets at the daily reset, and your best word of the day is what counts.
- Share your score and word with the Guardian community. Streaks and stats are tracked on your Guardian puzzle account if you're signed in.
