đŸŽ¯ What is Quordle?

Quordle is the daily four-board Wordle from Merriam-Webster. Each day the puzzle drops four simultaneous Wordle boards, all hidden behind a single input — you make one guess and the letters apply to all four boards at once. The goal is to solve all four grids within nine total guesses.

The format was created by Freddie Meyer (who called it "Quordle" in homage to the four-board puzzle), and was later acquired by Merriam-Webster, who now hosts it alongside their other word games. It's the same five-letter English vocabulary as standard Wordle but the multi-board format forces you to think strategically about which letters to commit to first.

💡 How to Play Quordle

  1. Open merriam-webster.com/games/quordle to see today's four empty 5×6 grids.
  2. Type a five-letter English word into the single input box and press Enter. Your guess applies to all four boards at once.
  3. Read the color feedback on each board. Green tiles mean the letter is in the answer and in the right position; yellow tiles mean the letter is in the answer but in a different position; gray tiles mean the letter isn't in the answer at all.
  4. Pick your first word to cover a wide range of letters — something with common consonants and vowels. CRANE, ADIEU, STARE, and AUDIO are classics.
  5. Use the remaining guesses strategically. With nine guesses across four boards, you need to balance which board needs the most attention.
  6. Solve all four boards before you run out of guesses. A shareable emoji grid appears with your daily score.
