Close Hue is the daily color-naming game from closehue.com. Each day the puzzle drops a target color and asks you to name it â you type any color you think matches, and the site scores you based on how perceptually close your guess is to the target.
The pool draws from the full spectrum of human color naming: basic terms like red and blue, but also precise ones like cerulean, ochre, mauve, viridian, and ecru. The goal isn't necessarily to nail the exact name â it's to get as close as possible on the color-distance scale. A new color drops daily, and an Unlimited mode is available for practice.
